This exhibition brings together works which look at the idea of home from multiple perspectives. Greg Creek's 2021 work Killing Jar places us in the suburbs of any Australian town, where the doors and windows are firmly shut and nature is something to be tamed and contained. In contrast, Betty Pumani's work Antara shows the ancestral land of her family as a complex interweaving of the waterholes and rain soaked rocks of her homeland instructing us about the conditions under which to harvest witchetty grubs. Also harvesting food, Rupert Bunny's peasants trudge home across a stream, while inside the family home, the teapot gleams at the supper table in Alice Bale's intimate view of Edwardian claustrophobia.
